Kalanggaman Island, Leyte: A Complete Travel Guide to Paradise Found – Pristine Beach, Crystal-clear Waters, and Unforgettable Adventures

Kalanggaman Island is a hidden gem nestled in the province of Leyte in the Philippines! With its pristine beaches, crystal-clear turquoise waters, and stunning sandbars, this island offers a truly unforgettable experience. Whether you’re a beach lover, an adventure enthusiast, or simply seeking tranquility amidst nature, this island has it all. Take leisurely walks along the powdery white sands, snorkel in the vibrant coral reefs teeming with marine life, or simply bask in the sun’s warm embrace. Getting to Kalanggaman Island may require some planning, but the journey is definitely worth it.

This island was actually not in my original plan. It was only going to be around Cebu, as I thought this was going to be a long ride from there. But I was wrong. The island wasn’t too far from Malapascua and the boat ride was smooth. I’m glad that the tides were good to us so we were able to enjoy the ride with the nice driver putting on some lively music.

Below are some photos around the island and also a short itinerary. It was lunch time when we got there but the weather is still gloomy. It’s not summer so I’m not surprised. It’s at least a 2-hour boat ride to the island if coming from Malapascua. Join us as we uncover the wonders of this hidden paradise, providing you with insider tips, travel guides, and all the information you need to make your visit to Kalanggaman Island a truly unforgettable experience.

Kalanggaman Island is a small island with beautiful turquoise waters located in Palompon, Leyte which is part of the Visayan region of the Philippines. It has a unique sandbar which is best seen during summer season. Unfortunately, it wasn’t summer when I went there so I only saw a bit of the sandbar. Also, they only allow 500 tourists a day to enter (not sure if this is still the case now).

This island offers a sanctuary for beach lovers and nature enthusiasts alike, perfect for those seeking a tranquil escape. Indulge in leisurely strolls along the powdery white sands, or dive into the vibrant coral reefs teeming with marine life. Capture picture-perfect moments as you witness the breathtaking sandbar that stretches across the island, providing a stunning backdrop for mesmerizing snapshots.
